NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL) – Monday, June 27th

DEPARTMENT ON DISABILITY SERVICES NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Pursuant to the requirements of the Rehabilitation Act of the 1973, as amended, the Department on Disability Services (DDS), Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), hereby gives notice of a public hearing to obtain input in the revision of the Rehabilitation Services Administration Title VII 2017 to 2019 State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL).

A public hearing on the SPIL revision will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Department on Disability Services – Rehabilitation Services Administration, Ground Floor Auditorium to solicit additional input from the public.  Recommendations are solicited from consumers, service providers, advocacy organizations and other interested individuals on how DDS the Designated State Entity (DSE); the Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC); and the District of Columbia Center for Independent Living (DCCIL) should expand and improve its provision of services with utilized funding to consumers with significant disabilities.

Individuals who wish to present recommendations are limited to ten (5) minutes at the public meeting and are asked to contact the Rehabilitation Services Administration, Ms. Darnise Henry Bush (202) 442-8432 or darnise.bush@dc.gov or Ms. Dahlia Johnson (202) 442-8748 or dahlia.johnson@dc.gov before 4:45 p.m. on June 24, 2016.
